What do you enjoy most about wealth management?

Wealth management and financial planning is like blueprints and building your dream home. My father and father-in-law are both architects.  Take the time to create the blueprint, revise the blueprint and then implement the blueprint.  Helping a business or family build their plan together provides great satisfaction to our team.

What are the biggest challenges?

Wanting someone’s dreams for them more than they do.

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

Leading a team of incredibly smart, caring and courageous people who support our clients vision and do whatever is possible to reach the destination.

What quality of yours makes you best suited to do what you do?

Listening to you. Being naturally curious about why something occurs helps too.

How should people think about their wealth?

Wealth can be easily measured in time more than just currency. Nothing is good or bad until you compare it to something.  Money isn’t everything and valuing money in a manner consistent with your goals and lifestyle realistically can be difficult. It’s a habit that requires discipline and honesty.

What do you love to do outside of work?

Spend time with my wife Elizabeth, son Noah and daughter Emme.  Family dinner is a priority to stay connected as a family “team” every night.  We belong to St. Dominic Catholic Parish and School and I'm on the School Security sub-Committee. Coaching my children in team sports is very rewarding. Getting into the outdoors to hunt, fish, and grow grapes and other vegetables has been very therapeutic and enjoyable too. My board involvement with Life Navigators is especially gratifying because of the impact our organization gets to make in the lives of those with developmental disabilities.

What’s the most influential book you’ve read?

"Failure is Obsolete" by Benji Rabhan 

What would you be doing if you weren’t a wealth management advisor?

Organic wine, orchard and agriculture development.  I can also see myself opening a farm to table restaurant offered in a rustic setting. I love being outside and the patience and satisfaction of growing things to share with others is very appealing to me.
